About the Founder
Organize 4U, Inc was founded by Jo Ann Fellows. Jo Ann worked in corporate America for 22 years. Her background and business skills include accounting, finance and operations. Her experience in corporate America included special projects that allowed her to express her organizational skills.
Jo Ann enjoyed talking with clients to understand their needs, pulling all of the resources together and watching the end-results unfold.
In addition to professional projects, Jo Ann implemented daily living organizational systems for disabled clients for day to day household activities. The organizational projects started with small areas, such as, bathrooms, bedrooms, closets and kitchens. Utilizing the systematic organizational approach she partnered with her clients to bring order in their homes:
- Non-value items were identified and thrown away.
- Old items that were of sentimental value but currently not of use to the client were donated to charity.
- Things close to the client’s heart were retained and carefully placed in a special area in the home.
Jo Ann’s passion for assisting individuals with disabilities began when she assisted her own father with his disability. In early 1970's, Jo Ann’s father was diagnosed with glaucoma. This disease was hereditary in his family. Since the disease was not curable, Mr. Fellows knew that he had to make some changes with his life style. As his eyesight deteriorated he could not assume things were where they were before. He now had to organize his own personal space in a different way. Due to the severity of this disease Mr. Fellows lost his eyesight at the age of 73. Mr. Fellows had to learn how to "feel" his way around the house. His personal safety became priority one. The house was reorganized so that he could maintain a sense of independence. Jo Ann’s experience with her father’s lifestyle change taught her to be compassionate, understanding and most of all – patient. After working with her dad for several years Jo Ann decided to dedicate her life to making sure people with disabilities and special needs have a home environment which is safe and manageable.
